Major Components of Winch Strap

The regular winch strap has two parts:

Webbing: The real strap, almost always poyester which is very stroug. It can bend, fight UV rays and rub, andcan be tight even with weight, and that is big to bunch the thing else.

Width: Common widths are 2", 3", and 4". Bigger straps tend to be stronger and warm up to it well.

Length: Changes from 10 feet to 40+ feet to match the size of the thing.

End Fittings: The usual type. They can be flat hooks, wire hooks, D-ring or chain hooks.The'n they are made for hook onto warm points on a trailer or even the thing.

Working Load Limit (WLL) versus Break Strength:

Break Strength: The max power the strap can take bfore breaking. Never tool to this.

Working Load Limit (WLL): The max safe load that the strap is for to take in normal use. It is 1/3 of the Break Strength. ALWAYS watch for the WLL.
